Two cases of genitary tract infection probably caused by this fungus were reported by McGough et al. (1990). It was isolated from brain tissue by Kemna et al. (1993). Alvarez et al. (1995) and Tsai et al. (1997) reported cases in transplant patients and Ramani et al. (2000) an abscess in a child. A fatal peritonitis in an alcoholic was reported by Munipalli et al. (1996).[1]
