Previously known from tropical, sub-tropical to temperate regions in Africa, Asia, and Australia (Frisch 2006), L. subcompunctum is reported for the first time from India from the tropical evergreen forests of Western Ghats (Kerala and Tamil Nadu). It can grow in shade but is found mostly in open sub-temperate forests and avoids humid environment.[1]
