ウェールズおよびスコットランドにおいてTractema vernaに発生した葯黒穂菌の一種を検討し、Antherospora tractemaeとして新種記載した。

分子系統解析で本種はScilla属を宿主とする種ではなくMuscari属を宿主とする種と姉妹群を形成した。

本種の宿主は近年Scilla属から別属に移されたが、本種の系統的位置は宿主のその分類学的措置を支持していた。
