チェコおよびドイツにおいてイチョウの葉に発生したBartheletia paradoxaを検討し、本種が二次分生子を形成することを確認した。

二次分生子は分生子から生じる柄の末端に生じ、無色で卵形～卵状の単細胞であった。

二次分生子は本種の短距離または長距離の散布に寄与していると考えられた。
