前者はビロウの腐朽葉柄に生じ、分生子柄が褐色小疣状、分生子形成細胞が顕著に裂けることなどで特徴づけられた。

後者はヨシの古い稈に生じ、分生子柄が帯オリーブ褐色平滑、分生子形成細胞が無色の円筒状棍棒形で頂部付近に細長い小歯を有することなどで特徴づけられた。
