Molecular and morphoanatomical characterization of Urocystis heteropogonis sp. nov.: a novel smut fungus infecting Heteropogon contortus
パキスタン、カイバル・パクトゥンクワ州においてHeteropogon contortusの葉に感染した黒穂菌の一種を検討し、Urocystis heteropogonisとして新種記載した。
本種は”spore balls”が既知種よりも大きく、1-8つの”central spores”を有し、胞子壁が厚く、不稔細胞は淡黄色であった。
本種はITSおよびnrLSUに基づく分子系統解析でも独自の系統を形成した。

クサヨシ属の一種に発生したイラン産の新種Urocystis phalaridis
Urocystis phalaridis sp. nov. on Phalaris sp. from Iran
黒穂菌の収蔵標本を調査し、Urocystis agropyriと同定されていた標本について形態学的検討を行った。
この標本は1993年にイランのゴルガーンで採集されたもので、宿主はクサヨシ属の一種であった。
本種は亜連レベルで同一の植物種を宿主とするUrocystis属の3種とは、胞子球のサイズおよび胞子数で区別された。
