タイの熱帯雨林で植物の枝に発生した菌を検討し、新属新種Pseudobambusicola thailandicaとして記載した。

本種は分生子殻、フィアロ型分生子形成細胞、大分生子と小分生子を形成し、分子系統解析では本種はスルカティスポラ科菌類とクレードを形成した。

本種は培養下で殺線虫活性を示し、6種類の新規化合物（タイラノンA-F）を産生した。
