カメルーンの熱帯雨林において採集された地下生シクエストレート菌の一種を検討し、新属新種Kombocles bakaianaとして記載した。

本種は子実体が類球形で外皮が淡クリーム色～淡黄褐色、担子胞子が黄褐色平滑のデキストリノイドであり、シスチジアを欠くことなどで特徴づけられた。

分子系統解析で本種はイグチ科クレードに含まれ、熱帯アフリカから分離されたイグチ科シクエストレート菌としては4番目の例となった。
