ハンガリーの半乾燥草地においてFestuca vaginataの健全根からエンドファイトとして分離された2種の菌を検討した。

片方を新属新種Fuscosphaeria hungaricaとして記載し、本種は未熟で変形した黒色球形の子嚢果類似構造を形成した。

また、もう片方をDelitschia chaetomioidesと同定した。

Differs from its closest phylogenetic neighbour Trematosphaeria pertusa CBS 122368 (ex-type strain of the type species of Trematosphaeria, Treamatosphaeriaceae) by unique fixed alleles in the LSU, SSU and TEF loci, based on alignments of the separate loci deposited in TreeBASE study S26261. [1]
