Description from Battetta (1938). This species is known only from the type specimen which could not be located. No decision as to synonymy, therefore, can be made. Microscopic characters of C. mairei appear similar to those of C. taxophila. Battetta (1938) mentioned that some fruit bodies have 2-5 short apical branches. In absence of type material, the validity of the report of nonamyloid spores is open to conjecture only.[8]
