後者はミチョアカン州とトラスカラ州においてコナラ属樹木と関係を持ち、外皮が帯赤褐色、グレバが淡黄色であることなどで特徴づけられ、DNA配列はプエブラ州やハリスコ州からも検出された。

後者は子嚢果の基部および内部に明瞭な腔所を有し、子嚢が細長い紡錘形であることなどで特徴づけられた。
