生息環境

Both collections came from the same location in GRSM. Since this species is very difficult to distinguish from H. aurantiacum 1 and 2, it is hard to determine range within the greater Blue Ridge Province region. The site contains riparian tree species such as T. canadensis, rhododendron thickets and various hardwood species such as red maple and paper birch. [1]

This species occurs primarily in conifers but many collections were in mixed stands containing hardwoods trees present throughout the areas of the current study. Baird (1986a) reported that P. strobus and T. canadensis were always present when this species was collected. Harrison (1961, 1964) further reported H. aurantiacum from conifer stands throughout North American and Europe. Maas Geesteranus (1975) also reported this species from conifers but often in mixed woods. [1]

This species occurs in mixed stands under rhododendron thickets containing Pinus spp. and hardwood tree species. This information is based on one collection and the percent similarity value between H. auranticum Forms 1 and 2 sequence data was different from Form 3. No other habitat information can be provided.
