本種は子実層面が平滑で縁部に菌糸束を伴い、胞子紋が白色で、担子器が2胞子性で小柄が長く、糸状体が通常分枝し、結晶を伴い厚壁であることなどで特徴づけられた。
本種と類似属との共通点および相違点について記述した。
