中国雲南省で採集された菌を検討し、Rhizopogon qujingensisとして新種記載した。

本新種はマツ林の腐植土中に単生し、外皮が非常に薄く、傷つくと速やかにばら桃色に変色し、担子胞子が狭長楕円形～長形であることで特徴づけられた。

また、R. rubescensとR. evadensの2種を中国新産種として報告した。
